Becoming Catholic: OCIC (Formation for Children)

Home / Becoming Catholic: OCIC (Formation for Children)

The Order of Christian Initiation for Children (OCIC) is a welcoming program designed specifically for children and teens ages 7 to 16 who are seeking to enter the Catholic Church or complete their Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and First Holy Communion).

Whether your child has never been baptized, was baptized in another Christian tradition, or was baptized Catholic but has not yet received the sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation, this program is for them. We meet your family where you are, providing age-appropriate instruction to help your child grow closer to Jesus and understand the beautiful traditions of our faith.

Who is OCIC for?

  • Unbaptized children and teens aged 7–16.
  • Children baptized in another Christian faith who wish to become Catholic.
  • Baptized Catholic youth who have missed the traditional preparation window for First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, or Confirmation.
