Welcome to 4-Year-Old Preschool!
I would like to take a moment to introduce myself and let you know a little about
me. My name is Nicole Duncan, and I am beyond excited to be your child’s teacher.
This will be my fifth year working at St. Thecla. If you ask anyone I know, they
will tell you I absolutely adore working in preschool. Each child has found a special
place in my heart, and they teach me as much as I teach them.
I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Wayne State
University. When I am not at school with your children you will typically find me
with my family. I am married to my High School Sweetheart Jason. We have three
amazing daughters Ava (15), Ally (13), and Charlotte (9). All three of my girls
attended St. Thecla since preschool. We love it here! We enjoy pretty much any
activity outdoors, walking our dogs, riding bikes, visiting zoos, road trip vacations
and family movie nights. We also love spending time with our very large extended
family. I love being a preschool teacher, shopping, food, exercising when I can find
the time, and researching fun crafts and science experiments to try in class.
My goal as your child’s teacher is to instill the LOVE of learning in each of them. I
want your children to love coming to school each day. I want them to not be afraid
to be wrong or make a mistake and have the confidence to speak and share in class
each day. I want your children to strengthen their love and relationship with God.
I want your children to come home and be excited to teach everyone about the
things they learned in class each day. I want learning to be fun and exciting for
them. I want them to know they are special. I also want you, as parents, to feel
comfortable talking to me and contacting me any time you have a question or
concern. We are a team, and communication is truly a must. Our classroom is a
family, and my goal is that you and your child both feel part of that.
It is going to be a great school year! I can’t wait for our first day!!!
