Dear Engaged Couple,

Congratulations on your engagement! We are so happy for you and happy you will receive the many graces and blessings of the sacrament of marriage.

Parish Office: 586-791-3930

Below is what our typical marriage preparation program looks like. We will need a recently notated baptismal certificate from the church you were baptized. More specific information will be given you from the parish.

  1. Call the priest to set up a time to meet. You will have an initial meeting with him to get to know you better, discuss the marriage prep process, receive some materials, and fill out a necessary form.
  2. Half day retreat
  3. Online natural family planning (NFP) class
  4. Take online pre-marriage inventory and then meet with marriage counselor a few times to discuss the inventory
  5. Witness to Love program entails meeting with a mentor couple six times to go through the workbook and focus on virtues necessary for marriage (couples already civilly married together meet four times). This is done ideally in your homes on your own time.
  6. You will meet with the priest/deacon to discuss the final details of the ceremony, including the scripture readings you chose and why you chose them.
