Divine Mercy Sunday. After several years of prayer and discussion with the leadership of The Servants of Jesus of The Divine Mercy (aka The Divine Mercy Center), we have decided to team up with them to work together on Divine Mercy Sunday and throughout the octave of Easter. This will be a big change for our parishioners, but I believe that these efforts will help more people to encounter the message of the divine mercy of Christ, which our area and our world so desperately need.
- Praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet throughout the Octave of Easter. Beginning on Good Friday (April 19) we will hold a recitation of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy each day in the church until Divine Mercy Sunday (April 27). The tentative schedule is as follows:
Good Friday (April 19) 3:00 pm (Immediately following the Liturgy of the Passion)
Holy Saturday (April 20) 3:00 pm
Easter Sunday (April 21) 12:30 pm (Immediately following the 11:00 am Mass)
Easter Monday (April 22) 3:00 pm
Easter Tuesday (April 23) 3:00 pm
Easter Wednesday (April 24) 7:00 pm (Part of Divine Mercy Encounter. See below.)
Easter Thursday (April 25) 3:00 pm
Easter Friday (April 26) 3:00 pm
Easter Saturday (April 27) 3:00 pm

- Divine Mercy Encounter. On Wednesday, April 24 we will be having a very special Encounter night. This evening will contain many of the beautiful songs and prayers that we typically have on Divine Mercy Sunday before Mass. We will also have a number of priests available for confessions, healing prayer ministry available, and a special talk about Sr. Faustina by Catherine M. Lanni. Please see the flyer/insert/article in this bulletin for details!
- Mass with Archbishop Vigneron at the Divine Mercy Center. On Divine Mercy Sunday, April 28 at 3:00 pm, Archbishop Vigneron will be celebrating Mass at the Divine Mercy Center (33826 Beaconsfield St, Clinton Twp, MI 48035). I have been invited to participate in the Mass with the Archbishop. In addition, we have been asked to recruit volunteers to help with ushering, Eucharistic Ministry, etc. Hopefully, we can get a good representation from St. Thecla at this Mass!
Because of these new opportunities, we will not be holding Mass here at St. Thecla at 3:00 pm on Divine Mercy Sunday as we have in the past. Of course, we will be keeping our normal Mass schedule that day (4:00 pm Saturday, 9:00 am, 11:00 am, 7:00 pm Sunday), and all of those Masses will be Divine Mercy Sunday Masses. But I encourage you to come on Wednesday the 24th to our Divine Mercy Encounter night. I am certain that you will find it rewarding.
